Welcome to Cornwall In Colour.
Although I spent some 25 years as a Portrait Photographer, It wasn't until Digital Technology was developed I became interested in Landscape photography.
I had already "retired" as a portrait photographer and had not picked up a camera for some years.
Having bought my first digital camera I found myself wandering the coast and mining areas of West Cornwall capturing some of the magic I had admired for some years.
For me, Cornwall is a mysterious and totally enchanting land. It appears to hold on to its past locked in the rocks and historic buildings. Its mining sites, although now dormant and abandoned, seems to be haunted by the thousands of men and women who worked there. I now spend as much time as possible in and around St Ives and Penzance trying to make up for lost time and missed images.
Cornwall's coast line can be both dramatic and peaceful. The landscape never ceases to amaze me, changing as it does, from intense colour to gray and sometimes sinister darkness. Some locations can look so different from one day to the next, but whatever the weather, it fills me with awe. It is not surprising that millions of tourists flock to its coastal villages and towns every year to experience its beauty and mystery.
